Review: The Body Shop Honey Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner

So, the last couple days I finally started using my new Honey Moisturising Shampoo and Conditioner that I bought at the Body Shop a few days ago, and MY GOD!!!! I am more than impressed! I was sort of humming and hawing about the scent selection and figured I like the scent of this one best ( I really don’t like the smell of the Banana shampoo/conditioner, it’s too sickeningly sweet for me), but I didn’t love the this combo either because usually I’m not big on honey scented things. Number one, the smell definitely grows on you— after I rinsed my hair and dried it, I COULDN’T STOP SNIFFING MY HAIR! I love shampoos that have a lingering aroma that stays in your hair— and this totally stayed in my hair all day and into the next. The scent isn’t over-powering though, it’s soft and sweet and subtle. And after a few uses, I can’t get enough of the honey scent! If someone were to hug you, they would be able to smell it…. and they’d probably hold you for a little longer than usual! LOL!

Now, on to the actual purpose of the shampoo. I have pretty fine hair, but LOTS of it, so anything too moisturizing tends to either way down my hair and make it look too greasy and flat, or my scalp gets irritated because it’s very sensitive (for example I absolutely CAN NOT use Pantene Pro V products whatsoever).

The first time I used the shampoo, I knew I had used way too much, because it lathers very well and a little will go a long way– which means it’s not made cheaply and you get a lot of usage out of the bottle. The same thing goes for the conditioner. A little (like a nickle-size and at most a quarter-size) will definitely be enough to coat all your hair. Lastly, and most importantly, the product did what it said– after washing my hair, there were no tangles, it felt very clean but soooo silky soft and moisturized. It didn’t leave my hair greasy or looking flat after it dried, which is major for me because I am always wanting more body to my hair.

I seriously wish I had known about this shampoo before I wasted so much money on shampoos in the drugstore that made my head itch! Like I said, though, my scalp is seriously sensitive, and I have no idea what makes my head itch when it comes to ingredients, but this combo is so lovely and gentle. I will continue to buy this for sure. In Canada each is $15.00 (400ml- there is a smaller size), so it’s a little more pricey than drugstore hair products, but this is THE BEST shampoo and conditioner I have tried… ever. That includes expensive brands like Joico, Redken etc.

If you have dry hair I definitely recommend this. If you have processed hair, I recommend this…. If you have HAIR I recommend this!

I know I sound like I’m selling you, but I am telling you 100% the truth- even my friend tried it today and absolutely loved the formula and smell. This is a personal review so I’m not paid etc. to do this and I paid for the product myself (yes I got a discount, but staff anywhere usually does). I don’t love all the Body Shop scents or products, but this one I LOVE. I say that with confidence and I will continue to use it and see if it still impresses me after a month or so. I’ll let you guys know if my opinion changes 🙂

And also, once I try the Gurana Shampoo and Conditioner I’ll let you guys know my thoughts on that formula as well.

The conditioner is on the left and the shampoo is on the right. As you can see the shampoo has a milky complexion and the conditioner is very thick and creamy.

QUESTION: Have any of you tried this? Let me know what you liked or didn’t like about the product, or what questions YOU have about this product 🙂
